We're excited to introduce Madeline Gilbert, the newest addition to the Fritz Porter team! With 27 years of experience as a fabric and wallpaper sales representative and a background in interior design, Madeline brings a wealth of industry knowledge, a love for beautiful textiles, and an infectious enthusiasm for color and pattern.
We caught up with Madeline to learn more about her background, what inspires her, and a few of her favorite finds at Fritz Porter.
Tell us a little about yourself and your role at Fritz Porter.
M: I'm Madeline Gilbert, the Outside Sales Representative for Fritz Porter. Before moving into fabric and wallpaper sales, I worked as an interior designer. I've now been a sales representative for 27 years, and I still love what I do!
What inspired you to pursue a career in the interiors/textile world?
M: I've always been drawn to fabrics and wallpapers and the way they can completely transform a room. There's something so exciting about discovering new collections. For me, receiving new fabric and wallpaper samples feels like Christmas morning!

What has been the most interesting aspect of working at Fritz Porter, what brought you here?
M: I'm thrilled to be part of the Fritz Porter team! I'm a print and color girl at heart, so the collections here are especially exciting to me. I love that so many of our lines come from small-batch makers and feature beautiful hand-blocked and hand-screened designs. There's something special about the craftsmanship and individuality behind each collection.
Fritz Porter is located in Charleston, how has Charleston inspired you?
M: My parents introduced me to Charleston when I was a child. My mother has always loved antiques and historic homes, and that appreciation definitely rubbed off on me. Between its beautiful architecture, historic buildings, and incredible antiques, Charleston has become one of my favorite cities in the world, right up there with Paris and Venice!
